It's hard to believe this picture and the previous shot were taken within 30min's of each other. Sun angle is everything. Behind Hal is Tenaya Canyon from whence we came. Altitude is almost exactly 10,000ft. The air is getting pretty thin but no one complained of altitude sickness. A nifty view can do wonders to numb the pain of getting there.
