Half Dome au naturale.  The left flank just hides Glacier Point.  That craggy canyon partially in shadow proceeding left from Half Dome's base is Illouette Canyon.

One of my favorite hikes begins at Glacier Point, proceeds left up Illouette Canyon to Illouette Falls.  The canyon ends abruptly 2.5mi's from Glacier Pt. at the falls, which is some 270ft tall.  What's neat about it is that few know it's even there as it is hidden from ordinary view.  Fewer still know there are a couple of camp sites near the precipice.  Rounding out the hike is a trip to Half Dome approaching from the side opposite where this picture was taken, then down into the Valley.  I highly recommend it to anyone.  It's an easy three day backpack trip or it could be done in two if you push past Illouette (not recommended) and stay in Little Yosemite Valley the first night instead.
