"Are we there yet?"  "Yes, I think it's just around that corner."  JD is standing on the steps leading up Half Dome's shoulder.  It's difficult to capture the steepness of the climb or the difficulty of lifting one's foot time after time up these "steps."  This shot makes a pretty good attempt.  It seems like a never ending push to the top.  However, the reward for getting there is awesome.

Half Dome itself doesn't come into view until you make the top of the shoulder.  The grind upward dulls the senses only to be revived again suddenly at the crest.  There is a single phrase uttered spontaneously by every first time traveler... (You can guess or... go to the next slide)
