The last hurrah.  It's about 4PM and we have an 8hr drive ahead of us.  The lone exception is JD who has to make the relatively leisure jaunt to Sabastapol in Sonoma County.

I'll venture to speak for everyone and judge the trip was a success.  No one thought about work or the daily grind (pain will do that) and there was a good mix of adventure, mystery, natural beauty, and physical challenge to appeal positively to all senses.  The body willing, I for one look forward to next year's trip.  Anyone else care to sign up for Bears98?

Epilog:  About a month after returning home, the crew, minus JD, met at a local microbrew to settle expenses and exchange pictures.   This Web site is a compilation from five different hiker-photographers.  It by no means is a comprehensive treatment.  Only about one in five pictures taken made it into the Web.  For more pictures, the reader is directed to Brett Phillips' Web at http://pinhead.mole.org.  All 70 or so pictures he took and had burned onto a PhotoCD by Kodak are stored there.  The remainder were scanned from printed photos or deposited directly from a digital camera.
