big-time.] I was not at all sure we were going to make it. This shot, taken at the top, is the EASY part. Progress got increasingly difficult with each step downward. The trend toward the difficult turned to the ridiculous before it got better... Which reminds me of that old saying, "It is always darkest before it goes completely black." At least I think that is how it goes. In any case, it fits our situation. You will notice that I took only one picture of our climb down from the mesa. The answer as to why this is the only photo can be found in the writings of Maslov who theorized that one must satisfy all higher needs before attending to lower ones. In this case, the highest need - personal safety - took precedence over photography. |
