We are now all the way down into Hance Canyon and walking along the creek toward the Colorado.  There are just a few more obstacles to contend with... waterfalls.  It is not at all obvious when you get to some of the taller falls that it is possible to safely make your way down AND climb back up.  One has to remember, The Colorado runs in a shoreless, walled canyon and is NOT navigable by raftless humans... So one has to be able to retrace one's steps or... (insert the unthinkable here...)

I am picking my way down beside on of the falls (to my right).  Do you see a certain way back up,... one that you would stake your life on?
