The last waterfall, about 100 ft from the junction with the Colorado, was the toughest to circumnavigate.  Was history going to repeat itself and stop the expedition from reaching its objective?  NO!!! We tried for a few minutes to pick our way down one side of the fall and then the other.  Every path looked fatal (literal interpretation).  Then it hit me... the last time I faced this roadblock, we had to back up a hundred yards or so and go OVER a hill... Well it work as you can see.   Paul, Hal, and Marshall have made it to the Colorado.  The photographer (me) is standing at the top of the hill to get the picture.  This is NOT a wide angle shot!   And yes, it is a long way down, however, the distance is nothing when compared to what we have just accomplished.

Note how clear Hance Creek's water is compared to the muddy Colorado.  This is our spot to savor both victory over Hance Canyon and lunch.   ...And then reality sets in... we still have to climb out, a.k.a., Hance Canyon strikes back!
