| We made our way along the east side of Horseshoe Mesa on the
Tonto trail as the sun was setting over the Grand Canyon. The Tonto trail parallels
the rim of Hance Canyon as it heads for the turn to Minor's Spring trail. This is
almost the same view we had at our first night's from camp on
Horseshoe Mesa, only from 1,200 ft lower. The magic Park Service arrow in this photo points to the ridge Paul used for his route out of the Hance Canyon. Click the arrow to see what the ridge climb looks like from Paul's vantage point under the arrow. Hope you are viewing this photo on a good monitor and with the room lights low as the contrast at sunset is hard to replicate otherwise. |
