Two things about this picture to note:
  1. The pesky Cholla and how carefully Serge is navigating through the garden.
  2. Which way are we going?  Serge is going right, Andrew to the left and Eric is making a beeline ahead.  If anyone thinks they are just going to head straight for a distant objective in the desert, they are in for a surprise.

We are now within a mile of trail's end at this point (just short of CG10 on the map).   The car is just around the bend in the upper left.
