Just when we thought we were "out of the woods" with trail's end just around the corner, the desert throws us one more curve ball.  In contrast to the previous shot taken about 1/2mi back, the canyon narrowed once again pinching off the shelf and Cholla field where we had been making good time and forced us into the tall brush one last time.  The weeds were so dense that we became separated from each other.  Some went right, some left, and some down the middle.  There was no optimum route through the thicket this time.  I think all of us on our various routes ended up crossing the creek three times in the space of 1/4mi.

This picture was taken just as we climbed out of the other side, almost in sight of the car.
