The guide book say, "You will come to a dense palm grove...". However, I don't recall it saying that the route passes through the one on the left, not the one on the right... Oops. Anyway, we go to explore both groves with only a few hundred yards of wasted distance.

We climbed the right bank into what turned out to be a tributary to Cougar Canyon in order to reach this first grove. It was only when we reached the sanctuary formed by these large specimens that we spotted the other palm grove in the bottom of the main canyon.
