Ok, so what is this?  Has Jeff found the world's largest asparagus?  No, the Agave cactus (aka The Century Plant), sends up a this shoot during it's last dying gasp.  The asparagus-like tip bursts into a half dozen large yellow flowers before dying away and dropping seed pods.
