| Remember a couple of slides back we were looking into the entrance of a
collapsed tunnel, well you guessed it, this is the other end. The contrast is too great
for the camera to capture what's inside so you'll just have to trust that it goes in about
100 yards before it hits the cave-in. There are piles of splintered timbers all along the
tunnel's length. Main shoring beams measure 14" by 14" by 20', not something one
gets at the local lumber yard. The forces must have been tremendous to break such massive
shoring. I ask again, I wonder how many died for the cause? |
