 Zion is a dead end
canyon as far as cars are concerned. We have parked at the turn-around and have walked the
1/4 mi or so along a heavily traveled tourist trail which peters out when the canyon
narrows, eliminating shores on both sides. From here, it is possible to proceed up the
canyon but one must be willing to get wet. If it were summer, walking waist deep in 40 deg
water might have been stimulating. But this is October. The guide books recommend the
adventure as it evidently gets into very narrow slot formations that are hundreds of feet
deep. We'll just have to come back... |
