6-Dec-97 Destruction Part 2

A major storm was building in the Pacific powered by El Nino so naturally, we were wondering what the contractor had in mind to keep us dry.  These photos document the fix, a giant zip-lock bag over the family room and garage.  The good news is the storm hit LA, largely missing San Diego.  We still got 3 days of pretty good showers, however... and the even better news... it leaked less than before demolition started!   Now if we were real smart, we would stop here, pay off the contractor for the plastic and be done with it.  But noooo, we forge ahead spending money like there was no tomorrow.  Example, the two beams which will hold up the garage ceiling and the family room roof cost two grand!  And they are just made out of plywood.  Then there are the hi-tech thermopane windows...  Don't get me started, rrrrrrrrr...
