Still just above the palm grove contouring to the right, the crew is about to rejoin Mortero Palm canyon.  It is this sort of terrain that reduces hiking speed to 1 MPH, less if you lose your way and have to backtrack.  What looks like a trivial hike on the map turns into more of a challenge on the ground.
