| Same shot as the previous but this time looking southward
toward Goat Canyon. The south side of the this range is
characterized by an endless serious of rolling mountains, the north side
by flat desert. The range we are standing on and the next range over
is separated by Carrizo Gorge. Goat Canyon "T's" into
Carrizo Gorge along the direction of this photograph. Goat Canyon
lies just behind Susan.
The interested reader is invited to review the travelogue of a hike
taken one year earlier down Carrizo
Gorge and over the Goat Canyon trestle. It was much more
difficult and slower than this route - about 3hrs per mile.
