...No, this is not a shot of the desert assault team digging out from a rock slide.  It is the "easy" way down Goat Canyon.  Unfortunately, pictures don't do well at capturing the steepness of the terrain.  We are now deep into Goat Canyon.  The walls are almost vertical and the fall line down-canyon is not much less so.  But still, a confident hiker can make the trip without significant difficulty.  It just takes care and effort.  The payoff is in the feeling of accomplishment at having taken the trials and succeeded.
