This bullet riddled artifact is the remains of a railroad signal tower.  It is located next to the switch (previous picture) about 100yds to the north of the trestle.  Some of the mechanism is still mounted inside the cabinets.  Just out of the top of this picture is the semaphore light bar (red, yellow, green) operated by the mechanism Julio is examining.
