| We finally made camp at Long Lake just as the sun was
beginning to set. The dying yellow rays lasted long enough to get
dinner out of the way and settle in for the night.
You will note that the crew could not agree on real estate. Gary and Marshall preferred lakefront property (left) and the rest settled for lake-view sites (far right, just below large boulder). No matter, Long lake, we all agreed, was a better place than the planned but more crowded Golden Trout camp. There was only one other tent on the lake besides our own. The next day's challenge, New Army Pass, is in view above the trees. It looks impassible from this vantage point... |
