Gary takes a GPS reading... just like the pioneers must have done on their treks West.  Though it is impossible to get lost in Miter Basin - basically because there are sheer mountain walls to "guide" even the most spaced-out hiker - it was important to make sure the GPS route was laid in and working...  We would need it later as the route out over Crabtree Pass was not so obvious.

What a spectacular walk it was up the Alpine meadow that lines Miter Basin.  An active creek runs the length of the basin, fed by high lakes situated out-of-site above us on either side.  We are nearing Primrose Lake's outflow to the creek in Miter Basin, about one third of the way to Crabtree Pass.
