Miter Basin is really a box canyon.  As we neared the end, we faced climbing through several tiered lakes toward our primary objective for this day, Crabtree Pass. 

Paul is making his way up one of a number of short climbs, which ended usually on a plateau featuring a lake as its centerpiece.   The footing was pretty good up to this point.  Most of the rocks were firmly anchored, reducing the probability of becoming a human sled.  But later...
