Directly above the lunch spot lay the last push to the top of Crabtree Pass.  Paul, Tom and John make their way up the rocky slope.  The footing was not so firm along this part of the trail.  The scree was very loose and one had to be careful.  ...But it was "easy."  Yes, that's right, we keep telling ourselves "it's easy, piece of cake really."

We were told by a couple of people that the best route over the pass was to the right.  However, the correct direction of approach wasn't so obvious... It turns out that even with all our collective wisdom, we went to the left... and paid the price for our mistake...
