Now Guitar lake is above tree line, is fed by frigid mountain streams, and nights in the Sierras dip well below freezing.  In fact, thermometers read 22 degrees the next morning.  Our water containers froze.  So why, you might ask, would anyone subject themselves to such bath water?  In fact, several members of the team took 'advantage' of the water to refresh themselves.  Kurt, pictured here, replied to the question.  "How is the water." with a very brief.  "Can't talk... Swimming," reply.  Still others experienced the 'scrotum propulsion effect', the law of human physics that says if the water is sufficiently cold when a male enters it, his scrotum will snap upward with such force that it will propel him to the shore at super-human speed.  I preferred a sponge bath instead... more evidence of the superior advantage that age brings.  "Hey guys, this is the painless way to do it!  Wait a minute, I just rung the towel out and now you can't see the bottom.  Who want's to use the wash cloth next?"
