| No, the exposure on this shot is correct. The sun is
setting rapidly as we finally get to Outpost Camp, and our last night in
the wilderness. My knees were shot from the long descent from
Whitney, not to mention the half-day climb up the back side from Guitar
Lake.
Outpost Camp is scenic in a combination woodsie - mountainie sort of way. We were camped in the trees, with crashing waterfall nearby, and awesome mountain faces on three sides. Truly a suitable way to spend our last night. The only negative is that Outpost Camp is right on the day-hike trail from Whitney Portal leading to the summit. Day-hiking Whitney starts around 3 AM with hikers passing Outpost Camp in a steady stream beginning about 4 AM... too early to be disturbed. |
